Look who's rounding first!

We had a St. Louis Cardinals theme for Johnny Boy's first birthday party,
we "knocked it out of the park" and everyone had a BALL!

I had so much fun coming up with ideas for the Cardinals/Baseball theme.
From the food (all ballpark items: hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, peanuts,
popcorn, cracker jacks, cotton candy...), to the decor, to the games and activities
(we had a baseball pinball game and an awesome whiffle ball game going on,
and we played pin the tail on the Cardinal and had a Fredbird scavenger hunt),
all of our guests dressed in their favorite Cardinal gear too
and the biggest "hit" of the day was an appearance by Fredbird himself!

It really was such a great day (despite the awfully hot temps), and one that we will never forget!

The kiddos made it to the prize at the end... Cotton Candy!

It really was a HOT day, but everyone toughed it out for our little buddy!

Nana was a big help at the party
and Maeryn and Johnny loved spending time with her too!

The big whiffle ball game!
Everyone's favotite mascot - Fredbird!!!
well... not EVERYONE'S favorite...
Hopefully Johnny was not too traumatized by the big red bird.
Fredbird even brought a whole bag of goodies for John,
but he was SOOOO not impressed.
I don't know what it is about big hairy costumed characters but Johnny
wasn't the only one who was not crazy about Fredbird being there.
But most of us loved it!

He must have been melting inside that costume,
but you would never know it.
He posed for pictures, signed autographs, goofed around with the kids
and was just so much fun!

Thanks for coming Fredbird - You're the best!

Cake time.
Get in there and get you some Johnny Boy!

Monkey see, monkey do.

nom nom.
A little help from his buddy Cade.
No, I will not share my cake Potts!
Nothing a little garden hose can't clean up!
Last but not least, presents!

Happy, happy first birthday John McShane.
We love you so!
