Snow Day 2013

There was pretty big news about this storm coming in so most companies and
school districts decided to remain closed for the day (last Thursday).
The snow started coming down around 10am.
So we found lots of things to do to occupy the time and keep ourselves busy!
Maeryn and John spent some time lounging in their comfy chairs...
Taking breaks every now and then to watch the snow fall.
Johnny got his workout in!

Then we made some english muffin pizzas for lunch - YUM!
This was taken late afternoonish.
Kevin and John, working from home...
and me and the bear, finishing up the taxes.
(ps. I swear we do brush this child's hair!  It is perpetually sloppy, but we do try...)
Then played some board games!
More games!
and yes, by the end of the day there were toys covering every inch of the house!
Time to shovel the snow!
This was the snow that piled up against our garage door,
it was about 8 inches by 4pm.
Maeryn went out to "play" while Kevin shoveled.
She wasn't loving it at first!

Little man and I just watched from inside...
Maeryn quickly go over being cold and wet and had much happier times in the snow!
Kevin made her an awesome little hill in our front yard.
And yes, those are plastic grocery bags tied around her shoes...
the poor kid doesn't have snow boots so we had to make do!
sorry so blurry...

She had a blast!
Meanwhile, JMac tried some puffs for the first time.
That look on his face was about how well it went too!
...we'll keep trying.
We finished off the day with Maeryn's favorite, banana oatmeal pancakes!
She was one happy girl. :-)

The Half-Birthday Boy!

Friday was John's 6 Month Birthday.

Happy half-birthday buddy, we sure do love you lots!!!

Short hockey season... short hockey fan!

Go Blues!
Johnny probably won't be a hockey player... but he sure does look cute in the jersey!!!
...AND look who's sitting up all by himself now.  :-)
with his very proud (and very not camera shy) big sis

Here's where he officially got bored with me taking pictures of him.
Later mom, I found my toys!

Valentine's Day has a whole new meaning...

Our two little Valentines have brought a whole new meaning to this day.
For us, it used to be about spending too much money on flowers,
dinner and maybe a cute little gift for eachother...
And now, like just about every other holday in our house, it's so much more about
THEM!
Getting dressed up in cute little pink and red outfits, picking out cards
and candy to share with friends, watching Valentine's Day specials on TV
and best of all, the class parties at school!

My school had parent-teacher conferences that night, so Kevin stepped up
and attended Maer's Valentine's Party with her!
I felt bad for not being able to be there, but I know she was was pumped to have Daddy there instead.
(also why there are no pictures of the event, he promised to go, not to take pictures...)
It was a really long day for me, but I received this picture around lunch time from our sitter, Debbie.
Totally made my day better!

Sweetheart Dance 2013

A couple weeks ago we attended the West County Day School Sweetheart Dance.
One Word: Adorable.

Maer-Bear has quite the dance moves these days!
I WISH my videos would upload properly, but I'm having trouble getting that to happen.
The pictures are cute, but they just don't quite tell the whole story...

Her face here says it all.
Maeryn and Mia
Yep.  That happened.
The "3's Girls"!

I Heart Downtime.

So the winter is "kind of" the off season for our busy soccer schedules,
which leaves us with an occasional Saturday or Sunday where we don't have
a whole lot going on except hanging out at home and enjoying eachother.
I'm pretty sure there isn't much in this world better than these moments...

Just like his big sis, Jmac loves his tubby time.

Best buddies!

Maeryn does this with John just about every day now...
She brings him a book or two and "reads" to him, making up the stories as she goes.
He hangs on every word!

My handsome guys.  :-)

Superbowl SNOWday!
We woke up to several inches of fresh snow on superbowl sunday.
The temps quickly rose, so we had just enough time to get out and play
before it all started melting again.
(sure glad I grabbed these bibs off the clearance rack a couple weeks ago - "just in case")
Bundled up and ready to GO!

Getting to work on Frosty...
Frosty Meyer 2013.

We are looking forward to warmer weather and being able to get outdoors more often,
but for now, I'll take these awesome, indoor, lazy day times too!
