Life with Two...

I could get used to this...

I think we'll keep him.

He just seems to keep getting cuter and cuter,
I really could just stare at him all day long...
And I know I keep saying it but he really is such a good baby!
Yep, I think we'll keep him.

Day two at home, Uncle Jim and Grandma stopped by for a visit.

And Johnny tried to get lunch from Kevin's nose!
We received an edible arrangement at the door and
I'm not sure who was the most excited.
It was adorable and delicious!

And probably Kevin's favorite thang about having a new baby at home and having my mom stay with us is that
Nana's kitchen is officially open for business!
She has been making all of our favorites.
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, lemon chicken, pulled pork, homemade mac&cheese, homemade spaghetti and meatballs...

And CARROT CAKE!
We have been absolutely spoiled this week.

What are we going to do when he is actually awake
for more than an hour at a time???

In the meantime, I sure do love snuggling with this little guy!

Cheeseburgers!

After a brief tantrum on our first morning at home
with Baby Johnny, Maeryn quickly cheered up and was
just as cute as can be with her baby brother!

We are all learning how this  is all going to work with a new
person in our house, lesson number one:
just let Maeryn hold that baby!

Everything will be ok, and he will live to see another day.

He's a natural...

So, the top picture is one that was taken of Johnny relaxing in his plastic bassinet in the hospital.
The bottom picture is one of his Uncle Drew's
professional modeling pictures.
Yea, I know...

"Thank you for getting us this baby!"

Day 1 with our Johnny...

Good morning sleepy head!
And THIS is that crazy little person you have been hearing
all these months.  She has been very anxious to meet you!
Just as we expected, love at first sight.
Later that day, Maeryn said to me:
Thank you for getting us this baby!
My heart melted.
First family picture. :-)
Me and my buddies!
And here's your Nana!
And Grandma and Papa,
we are all smitten!
Especially him...
Today I heard him telling you all about video games and swear words... which he says you are allowed to use,
"because you are a boy".  We will see about that.

It's only been 5 days, but wow what people say is true...
The second one is WAY easier than the first one.
Our peaceful, sweet, snuggly baby Johnny.

More sweet pictures with a little Instagram editing...

Getting ready to go home from the hospital.
Just waiting on the pediatrician and some release papers.
Maeryn and Kevin enjoying the down time...

Look out world, here he comes!

What Induction?

Taken the morning of August 22nd...
Shortly before we ventured out to Sam's Club
to pickup some groceries.
Which is where all the fun began!

Since (to this point in time) there were no real signs that this baby would come on his own, we had an induction scheduled
for 7:30am on the 23rd... so, as for the 22nd (his due date)
the plans were full steam ahead.

After our brief shopping trip, while loading the car,
MY WATER BROKE!
Fast forward a few hours and here were a few of the moments
later that day before the delivery.

Big Sister Maeryn getting some presents
(and special attention) on her way in to the hospital.
Nana and Maeryn hanging out in our room.
Our best attempt at a nap.
Getting close...

At 10:02pm, John McShane Meyer arrived
changed all of our lives forever!
He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 20.5 inches long.

Kevin getting to trim the cord.
Big Boy!
(although much smaller than I expected)
First Bath
We are in LOVE!
Proud Papa!
Here's Johnny!
It was a long, exhausting day but so, so worth it.
Our boy is perfect and we couldn't be happier.

Countdown gone wrong!

I had to share this failure of a countdown from a friend's blog that I felt applied just to closely to our own little tardy baby since he WAS due today, August 22, 2012... yet here I sit, still big and preggo and still NO BABY!

Here is the exerpt from her blog: I wanted to share with you a little countdown we had going on at home anticipating the arrival of Baby Brother. Everyday we would cross off another number, and with every "x" I would hope that we wouldn't have to make another one the next day. I will admit I had some wishful thinking that we would only make it to around day 14 or so, but of course I was willing to be patient and allow Baby Brother time to adequately bake. Key word of that last sentence….WAS.
My patience is long gone at this point.
Here is the countdown...
You may be looking at that thinking…What? I don't get it? Looks fine to me. WRONG. Let me point out what is wrong with the picture. We have now crossed off Day #1. Day #1 = August 11th…his due date. So as I sit here writing this Baby Brother is officially LATE. And now I have to redo the chalkboard and start with negative numbers. FYI...I don't like negative numbers.
Yeah, that about covers it for me too...
