And it has begun...
She's a REAL soccer player now folks!
(is it just me or is this the cutest thing ever?!?!)
It certainly wasn't the ideal circumstances for her first "real" soccer game...
8:00 in the morning, 30 degree temperatures, no sun.
A definite recipe for disaster, especially for this kid who has been smothered with soccer
her whole life. I fully expected her to want to run away kicking and screaming.
Once we convinced her that is wasn't THAT cold,
and that she just needed to run round a little bit and warm up,
she had a BLAST!
A little pep talk from Coach Justin!
That's right kids, we're going THAT way...
Maeryn was quite the cheerleader on the field...
Pretty sure she was saying "Go Alex!" on this one.
'Atta-Girl Maer-Bear!
She's smiling here right???
She likes it, she really likes it!!!
One of our MANY kickoffs during the game...
We were a "little" out-matched, I think the final score was 10 or 11 to 2.
But I'm certain the other team had played together at least one or two seasons before
and they probably had some kids on steroids too - they were huge! ;-)
Woohoo! We scored one!!!
Sitting on the bench may or may not have been her favorite part...
There were some definite shenanigans going on over there.
I'm just so glad she had fun and there were no tears!
Post-game sand pit play time... still in that uniform, HOURS later (shinguards and all).
She was so excited to have a nice day out to play and just couldn't get enough sunshine.
I can't wait to watch our kids continue to play the game that Kevin and I love so much.
I just hope it does as much for them as it has for us all these years!
